Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Lastly, the CG cutscenes are shameful. Team Ninja obviously put a ridiculous amount of polish on Sigma's in-game engine, so it totally astounds me that the rendered cutscenes are straight up ports from the Xbox version. Not only that, but as they are Xbox 1 quality, they're only shown in 480p. It's enough to make you scratch your head. Seriously, I can't think of one good reason Sigma doesn't have new cutscenes (or at least some that run in full HD, for Christ's sake!).

Despite these flaws, Ninja Gaiden Sigma never loses it's intense playability. It's a furious ride that moves at a blistering pace, never stopping to breathe. The combat system is unprecedented, as are the mouth-watering character animations. Sigma works on so many different levels that, when it does hit a snag, it's hard to get terribly worked up.

Mmmmm... toasty.

Highs
Nearly flawless combat; mouth-watering animations; phenomenally gorgeous visuals; longer than the average action game; new content feels naturally added, rather than shoehorned into the game.

Lows
Camera from hell; Rachel's character(s), and all the jiggling that entails; "find the key" puzzles become stupid quickly; CG cutscenes are straight from Xbox which means they're in 480p; new content doesn't abound.

Final Verdict
I think this is pretty much a no-brainer if you own a PS3. If you haven't played the game yet, then all the better. This is the best version by a landslide. Yes, there are problems with the game, and yes, they don't get talked about enough, but the core gameplay is just so amazing, you might not even notice them.
