Another major flaw comes in the form of what should be the simple task of joining a game. Like Halo the game uses a party system, but there is no guarantee that the people you party up with will wind up on your team. There is no option to host a game. There is no differentiation between "ranked" and "player" matches like most 360 titles have, so only those with Xbox Live Gold memberships can play. There is no way to have someone sign in as a guest. All of these things work in tandem to make getting into a game much more frustrating than it should ever be.
Although the things that Shadowrun doesn't have are pretty big disappointments, however, the gameplay is where the game should deliver and it does. Despite the fact that there are only three basic modes of play, despite the rather basic weapons loadout, and despite the fact that much of the basic formula is a rehash of something another game has been doing for a decade, I have to say that Shadowrun is well worth the asking price.
This is one of those games I can see myself playing on a daily basis for months if not years on end. While this is common on the PC (my boys and I still play Quake III and how old is that), most console games have a shorter life span. I see Shadowrun lasting much longer than usual. It will at least stay interesting until a sequel is released, hopefully one that addresses this game's annoying drawbacks.
