This game is short. I was able to beat it in about 8 hours. In about 3 more hours, I could easily completely complete all quests in the game. If I had played the game without going out of my way to find more mugs, I could have beat the main storyline in less than five hours. The game doesn't require you to venture far beyond the constructed linear levels.
There is a castle capture mini-game thrown into the mix that you can easily beat. Enemies, even the three or four minor bosses are super easy to defeat. You simply run around and then punch and then perform a finishing move by pressing 'Y' when it tells you to. The script and storyline aren't really that funny and engrossing because the story isn't really interesting. It expands on the movie well, but all comes back to two minor story lines in the film that honestly aren't enthralling. There should have been more ways to defeat enemies, more variances between characters, and simply more to do in this game. It's not bad, but it's not great. This game does more than the usually movie game, but still continues the tradition of good movies becoming OK games.
Shrek the Third is also available on the PS2, Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, and Nintendo Wii.
