What happens when Sin City is under siege? Send in Team Rainbow.

Sin City is under siege by terrorists with a mysterious bomb that the world has never seen before. You are thrust into downtown Vegas and ordered to put down the threat, and do so with as little collateral damage possible. Any normal person would be shaking in their combat boots, but Logan Keller, leader of Team Rainbow and the only hope the city of Las Vegas has, is stone cold and ready to go. In Rainbow Six Vegas you will take control of Keller in the latest adventure in the series by UbiSoft.

The city of Las Vegas is perfectly rendered.

It is safe to say that UbiSoft redeemed itself from the atrocity to the Rainbow Six name that was Lockdown, and even the horribly average Raven Shield. With amazing enemy AI, an interesting locale, intense combat and superb visuals designed with the Unreal 3 engine fans are likely to thank UbiSoft and forget all about the past two versions of the Rainbow Six saga.

In Vegas, expect to bring your ‘A’ game as the terrorists are bent on destroying the gambling capitol and won’t take it easy on you, even on the ‘Normal’ difficulty setting. They will constantly flank, dive for cover, blind fire around corners, shoot and rush when you are reloading and provide cover for each other. Enter a room full of gun-toting maniacs without a plan and you will find a few new holes in Team Rainbow that weren’t there before. Taking cover and timing your shots is very important in being able to bring your enemy down. Thankfully enough, a fantastic cover system has been designed. Holding the L trigger will flatten you up against cover, also you can lean out by pushing the left stick to the desired direction to fire your weapon or survey the situation. But remember to duck back down, or else this mission will be very short.

Witness the visual power of Unreal 3!

Aiding in your mission are two members from Rainbow’s Bravo squad, Jung Park and Michael Walter. Being almost as smart as your targets, your team will find cover and return fire. They are spot on at finding tangos in the area and are dead on with their shots. I say almost, because all too often you will set up an ambush for a hard pressed room and your team will follow every command with out issue, but the second they enter they will stand in the middle firing off at the enemies who have found cover. Now, this problem doesn’t happen all of the time, but enough that it deserves mention. During all other moments the team performs flawlessly.
