Can the team that created Rainbow Six 3 deliver another classic, or is Vegas destined for bargain bins?

What's so special? According to Ubi Soft by this game taking place in Vegas, the possibilities are endless. Vegas has a current target release date of September this year.

Developer track record: Ubi Soft is looking to return to the core of what makes a Rainbow Six game successful and they have chosen the team that created Rainbow Six 3 to do so.

One of the main objectives of this game will be, as usual, to eliminate the terrorists. Also when attempting to eliminate the terrorists you have to be very careful not to accidentally shoot the drunken tourists, after all the game does take place in Vegas!

There are many options on how to do this in each situation. You can run through the front door, rappel down or even bust through the windows. The main idea is to add variety to suit everyone’s play style on how they like to tackle objectives and certain situations.

The artificial intelligence for this game will be especially terrific if Ubisoft is to be believed. One programmer was appointed to work just on the A.I., ensuring that opponents act realistically and with personality. If a soldier is part of the elite Special Forces, he’ll react based on that training.

The whole storyline takes place over a 12-hour span. It also sports cut-scene-less game play and new characters. Joanna the helicopter pilot is one of the more interesting new characters who will literally carry you from mission to mission.

For this particular game Ubi Soft is employing a new method of commanding your squad mates that is said to be “simple and intuitive”. On the Xbox 360 you will be able to use the D-pad to make these commands quickly and easily, just like in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

As you can see from the few screenshots that have been released thus far, the graphics look absolutely amazing. Based on the screenshots this may be the best looking 360 game to date. Everything looks very realistic, the enemies, lighting, environment and especially the guns.

Although the details are slim and nothing is concrete yet, it’s pretty safe to say that this game seems to be shaping up very nicely.
