Gears of War 2, for the few uninitiated among you, it Epic Game's sequel to the much love tactical third-person shooter Gears of War, which launched on the Xbox 360 back in 2007.

The game is set to take place six months after the explosive events of the first game. Players once again take control of Marcus Fenix, the series' bad ass protagonist voiced by John DiMaggio.

Earlier this week we showed you the official debut trailer for the game, which you can find here, and today we can bring you the first ever batch of high-resolution in-game screenshots. Check them out in the image gallery above.
